Supporting the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault

There’s no shortcut to building safer communities. It takes long-term commitment, real accountability, and a refusal to look away. The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) has been doing that work for decades. They advocate for survivors, fight for policy reform, educate communities, and provide essential resources to organizations across the state. Their mission is big, and it’s urgent.

At PufCreativ, we believe that public safety and survivor support is foundational. And right now, organizations like CCASA need our support more than ever. As threats to bodily autonomy rise and gender-based violence continues to impact communities everywhere, the work CCASA does is critical.

We’ve been proud to stand with CCASA for over seven years. This blog is our way of amplifying their impact and inviting others to join us in showing up for survivors and a better future.

Our History with CCASA

Our partnership with CCASA started back in 2018 when we hosted our first fundraising event benefiting the organization. That first year lit a fire under us, and in 2019, we followed it up with another community-centered event, raising awareness, money, and voices for survivors across Colorado.

Since 2019, we’ve proudly sponsored Denim Day, an international movement to end victim-blaming and show up in solidarity with survivors. Denim Day is a global call to action rooted in one survivor’s fight for justice. The movement began after an Italian court overturned a rape conviction because the survivor was wearing tight jeans.

The implication is that she must have had to help remove them and therefore consented. That decision sparked outrage, and an international tradition was born. Every April, we wear our denim with intention, but the truth is, this cause stays on our minds year-round.

Why CCASA’s Work Matters Now More Than Ever

We’re living through a time when attacks on bodily autonomy are ramping up, from rising rates of gender-based violence to political efforts that chip away at basic human rights. Survivors are navigating more barriers than ever before, and the organizations that support them are being asked to do more with less.

CCASA’s work is grounded in trauma-informed, survivor-first frameworks that center healing, justice, and systemic change. They’re holding the line in every way that matters, like policy advocacy, community outreach, and training frontline responders. CCASA and related organizations are often underfunded and overstretched, but they’re doing the work anyway.

Now is the time to uplift, donate, and advocate alongside them.

How You Can Get Involved

There’s no one way to support anti-sexual violence work, but doing something is always better than doing nothing. Here are a few ways to show up for survivors and stand behind the organizations doing the work:

1. Donate to CCASA

Cash is still king when it comes to community care. Your donation to the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault directly supports trauma-informed trainings, policy advocacy, resource development, and survivor support across the state. These programs save lives, but they rely on funding from individuals and partners who believe in the mission.

Even a small monthly donation can help sustain this work year-round.

2. Sponsor or Participate in Denim Day

What started as a protest against a harmful court ruling has turned into a global day of action. Every April, Denim Day invites people to wear jeans to challenge victim-blaming narratives and show solidarity with survivors. In our several years of participation, we’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be.

Organize a denim event at your workplace, donate in honor of the day, or amplify the message on your channels.

3. Spread the Word and Support Local Organizations

Advocacy doesn’t always mean marching or writing to lawmakers. Sometimes, it’s as simple as sharing a post, tagging a friend, or putting a resource in someone’s hands. Amplify CCASA’s work on social media. Talk to your community about what survivor-centered support really looks like.

And don’t forget about the smaller, local organizations who are holding it down on the ground level. They’re often the first call someone makes, so make sure to support them, too.

Allyship Is an Ongoing Practice

At PufCreativ, supporting survivors and advocating for equity, safety, and justice is built into our DNA. We’ve been standing with CCASA for over seven years because we believe that allyship means showing up even when the headlines fade. It means investing in real change, amplifying the voices that need to be heard, and holding space for the healing and empowerment of survivors.

If you’re a brand, business, or individual with any kind of platform, use it. Use it to educate, to advocate, to fundraise, to shift the culture. This work belongs to all of us.

Take a moment to learn more about CCASA. Share their mission, support their efforts, and keep showing up. Real allyship lives in our actions, every single day.
