At PufCreativ, we’ve always believed that celebration and impact can go hand in hand. That’s the spirit behind our Party. Play. Purify. event series. It’s a space where music, movement, and community come together to do something bigger than us.
This year, we’re proud to announce our partnership with Freedom Grow, a grassroots nonprofit fighting to free and support those still incarcerated for cannabis. For us, and so many in the industry, this cause hits close to the heart. No one should be behind bars for the same plant that’s now healing lives, creating jobs, and uplifting communities.
In this blog, we’ll share who Freedom Grow is, what they do, and how every dance, donation, and good vibe at Party. Play. Purify. helps power real change for people still paying the price of prohibition.

Who Is Freedom Grow?
Freedom Grow’s mission is to Bring Light to Dark Cells.
Founded by Stephanie Landa, who served five years in federal prison for the very same plant now driving legal industries nationwide, Freedom Grow is a nonprofit built by and for people directly impacted by prohibition. What began as a small act of solidarity has evolved into a national movement supporting cannabis prisoners and their families through advocacy, education, and direct outreach.
Today, the organization is led by the Beard Bros, longtime advocates and respected voices in the cannabis community, along with a dedicated team of board members and volunteers (many of whom have lived this reality themselves). Among them is Randy Lanier, a former race car champion who spent 27 years in prison for a cannabis offense and now uses his story to inspire change.
It’s this lived experience that gives Freedom Grow its heart. Every dollar raised, every story told, every letter written comes from a place of understanding and shared purpose.
Freedom Grow is fighting for their friends, their families, and their freedom.
What Freedom Grow Does
Freedom Grow is a lifeline. Through programs built on empathy, action, and real-world impact, they help cannabis prisoners and their families feel seen, supported, and never forgotten.
1. The Wish Program
The Wish Program is the heartbeat of Freedom Grow. It provides commissary money, books, and magazines to cannabis prisoners. These are simple things that bring comfort, connection, and dignity. These small acts remind our incarcerated community members that they are not alone and that their sacrifices have not been forgotten.
2. Family Outreach
Being separated from loved ones is one of the hardest parts of incarceration. Through Family Outreach, Freedom Grow helps incarcerated parents send gifts, cards, and love to their families, especially around the holidays. It’s a way to keep bonds strong, even across prison walls, and to remind children that their parents’ love hasn’t gone anywhere.
3. Holiday & Emergency Drives
Freedom Grow steps up when families need it most. Their holiday and emergency drives provide gifts, school supplies, and financial help for families facing hardship. When one person is locked away for cannabis, the whole family feels the impact.
4. Re-Entry Support
Coming home after prison is a massive transition. Freedom Grow’s re-entry program helps returning citizens rebuild with essentials like phones, transportation, and clothing, empowering them to take their first steps toward freedom with confidence and support.
5. Public Advocacy
Beyond direct aid, Freedom Grow is a powerful voice for change. Their team travels nationwide to educate the public, advocate for cannabis justice, and gather signatures urging presidential clemency for those still incarcerated.
Every event, every conversation, and every letter brings us closer to ending cannabis incarceration for good.
Our $10,000 Goal
Each Party. Play. Purify. event this year will be supporting Freedom Grow. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for this life-changing organization. We’re turning music, movement, and connection into real-world impact for those who’ve been unjustly punished for the plant we all love.
That $10K goes directly toward programs that change lives:
- The Wish Program, which sends commissary money, books, and magazines to cannabis prisoners, helping them stay connected, educated, and hopeful.
- Family Outreach, which delivers love and support to the families left behind, from holiday gifts to back-to-school drives.
When you show up, dance, donate, or share the story, you’re part of a community that believes in second chances and stands up for justice.

How to Get Involved
Ready to make an impact? Here’s how you can help us support Freedom Grow and reach our $10K fundraising goal.
- Show up. Come to any of our Party. Play. Purify. events during MJBiz week and have a blast while fighting for a cause that matters. Every ticket moves us closer to our goal.
- Give directly. Donate to Freedom Grow to help fund commissary money, family outreach, and re-entry programs that change lives.
- Spread the word. Share their work on social media to keep cannabis justice conversations alive.
- Take action. Advocate for reform by signing clemency letters or volunteering your time.
When we come together as a community, the impact is undeniable.
