kindColorado and PufCreativ are pleased to announce our newest collaboration and upcoming event, Cannabis Doing Good Socials (or CDG Socials). We know nonprofits and community efforts are often looking for new ways to support their mission. This isn’t a networking event to promote philanthropy or exchange dollars, rather this is a happy hour event designed to inspire relationship building and innovation. We don’t know what will be possible when we put thought-leaders from the nonprofit and cannabis sectors in the same room, but we know it’ll be good. And we hope it creates a gigantic, contagious platform, for Cannabis Doing Good.

Cannabis Doing Good Socials Goals

The intent of CDG social is to raise awareness and support among the cannabis community for 1 to 2 selected non-profit organizations. We plan to excite engage, and inform the sectors, so that innovation for community problems becomes possible. Leaders and innovators from both the local community and cannabis sectors will have a chance to meet on a neutral ground, in a nurtured, and supportive environment with one intention – to do good!

Our first event is planned to serve as an experiment. We want to see how our mission and vision aligns with other members of the cannabis and community sectors. If there is an interest, then we will dive into developing a sustainable and collaborative organizational model. Since we’ve made the initial announcement we’ve already received a ton of positive feedback!

First Social Event Details

Our first Cannabis Doing Good Social will be hosted at Zuni Street Brewing Co. on October 17, 2018 from 5-8pm. 10% of the revenue from gross sales during this time frame will be donated to the GES Community Land Trust. There will be additional opportunities to donate and learn more about this amazing non-profit the night of the event.

The socializing will take place on the outside patio that contains a plethora of seating and fun games. On top of live painting by the Cannabis Art Relief, there will be an open mic night hosted by the Howling Moon Duo that also features members of Deliciosa.

GES Community Land Trust

Community members from GES Coalition have been organizing and building capacity around Community Land Trusts for 3 years to get to today’s small win for health and housing justice. We want to celebrate our neighbors and all of the people who have supported GES community members, and have long worked in solidarity with the fight for community justice.

The shared vision of GES Coalition, GES Affordable Housing Collaborative, and GES Community Land Trust is to keep neighbors stable in their housing, create collective land ownership and stewardship at the community level, and justly pay community directed work. What can organized neighbors and allies do to prevent displacement? We know that we grow and build community power when our collective organizing is united– and we know that together we turn small wins into bigger benefits shared across our community.
